For those of you who read food blogs, you will often see a “What I Ate Wednesday” post. Same idea here, except it will be what I saw when I ran on Wednesdays. So take a peek at what my orbs observed and then add your own experience!
Due to the pouring rain this morning, I reluctantly (ha!) pulled my sheet over my head and snuck in an extra 45 minutes of sleep this morning. No two-fer today, but tonight’s group run more than made up for it 🙂 Emily and Christy are almost wrapped up with their research project and will be shipping out of NJ very soon (Christy to the Bahamas, she got the job she was interviewing for last Wed! and Em back to the dirty south) so it was our last summer run with them. Everyone else is destined to endure the rest of the NJ August humidity, but it always helps to wade through the thick air with friendly faces. Here is what we saw:
Scott has a background as a masseuse and apparently a skill for working knots out of runner’s necks – as they run! He’s a man of many talents, ladies.
Monarch butterflies are only going to get more abundant from here on out! Yes!
Nothing better than a group of runners taking over Lighthouse Ave. on a beautiful August evening.
The humidity doesn’t seem to be sappy the spunk out of these beauties!
Boo! Dead green snake 😦
Upon our return, we noticed a very conspicuous absence- where was boss baby?? And Emily? Last time we saw them, they were happily walking away from us. A la Encyclopedia Brown, it was The Case of the Missing Hippie Baby. Here Amanda tried to reach Em, to no avail.
The next step was to send out a running search party… Scott and GD also popped out by car, brainstorming who they knew with a baby that they could bring back and try and pass off as Boss Baby, the way you would with a kid’s goldfish. But Boss Baby is one of a kind and they knew their plan was destined for failure. Rumors started swirling that maybe Em had run off with BB, to live happily ever after in the Villas. Just as we were starting to really wonder where they were…
… they popped back up, tie-dyed cuteness intact! Turned out they just took the scenic way back. Scott and GD put back the baby they found and we declared the case closed! Better celebrate at the Nail with some fish tacos…
But first we needed to yap for awhile, until Scott could take it no more and demanded we go get dinner. Yes, sir! Delicious times were then had by all 🙂
Did you read Encyclopedia Brown as a kid?
What did you see on your run today?
Do you like snakes or do they give you the heebies? i like ’em and was very sad to see the state of this one 😦
